What is the "noble cause"?

If we "cut-and-run".....if America fails....what happens to them? "Stay the course", doesn't mean we don't adapt our plans to the fluidity of this war; what it means is that we demonstrate to our enemies our determination and intestinal fortitude, to win this war. That our will is greater and that America is no "paper tiger". That the pursuit of a policy of "going Jihad" against the American military is spiritually unprofitable and is a sure-fire way of achieving physical demise...go straight to hell...do not pass heaven; do not collect 72 virgins.

America offers Iraqis hope and a brighter future; our brave men and women in the military are there protecting innocent lives. The insurgents have nothing to offer Iraq other than suffering and darkness; they are there destroying innocent lives. How can anyone still draw moral equivalence between "us" and "them"? We ARE the good guys. It's that simple. Hand-wringers are just in the way. Moral relativity is for moral cowards who can't take a stand between right and wrong.....good and evil. United for good, we stand; divided by evil we fall.

The stakes are too high for America to falter. Our security is their security; and their security is ours.

"In the grind of this horrible war, these kids have won the hearts of uncountable American service members. During my own times of doubt about the mission, I think about these kids and cannot bear the thought of abandoning them when I know that they can grow up to be free"

Absolutely, Wordsmith! But when it comes to "determination and intestinal fortitude", the democrats don't seem to have any except in their effort to undermine the current administration, and they will stop at nothing in order to do so. It's apparent that lying and even cheating is no big deal to them.

Bless you for posting those pictures. We are doing great things in Iraq, and shame on those who will not give our military credit for what they do. Shame also on the MSM for not putting enough of this stuff out there. Even Fox News doesn't put it out there often enough. I guess all of the MSM now subscribes to the theory that "if it bleeds it leads!" I'm really tired of it.

What beautiful faces!

Why doesn't the GOP put out an ad using the photos to justify why we need to stay the course???

One person started a project 2996, and look at how people pulled together, separately. I wonder if such a thing could happen in the blogosphere for those kids?

We couldn't show that!! They look...HAPPY. That doesn't work. The people in Iraq are hurt and mad at us!! Nothing else will do.

Its nice to see smiling Iraqis. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Sort of like we are making a difference in the world.

The United States has never fought a war with the intent of oppressing people or subjugating them to our will. Even our own War Between the States had an element of freeing an enslaved people.

People that refuse to acknowledge that fact are really quite stupid.

Some belief we are the aggressor in Iraq and Afghanistan... that we have preemptively attacked. They refuse to remember the US Embassies, the USS Cole, The World Trade Centers (twice), plus another 6,102 Muslim Terrorist attacks worldwide since 911.

Great post, Wordsmith. Thanks for getting the word out!

andisworld has a picture of a soldier holding a baby that was the lone survivor of a family massacre in Iraq. THe baby was shot in the head, but still survived. The only way she would calm down and sleep is if that soldier holds her over his heart.

The picture is of them both sleeping peacefully.

Sums it up for me. Sums it all up.

Thanks again Wordsmith for reminding us why we are fighting in Iraq. Well said!

We know the stakes are high. But it often seems that the political noise and the horror of the latest bombing cause us to lose focus.

And I'd hate to think what would happen to the children if Iraq slid back into darkness.

In one of the captured plans for Iraq under the Caliphate is the document outlining a "Department of Executions."

Iraq has seen enough mass graves with the bodies of children, infants and even babies.

This may be the last chance for the children in these photos to have hope for a future free of horror, death, murder and fear.

And it's an outrage that the supposed defenders of human rights on the left aren't first in line to help make it so.

I had a further thought:

How nice it is to read a salutory post like this, then come over and share some camraderie with likeminded thinkers without being offended by moonbat fools saying that the US killed more kids than Saddam.

I'm jealous!

Mike,

It's not like I haven't tried; you should harvest and wear your moonbats like a badge of honor. If you're saying something to drive them batty over there, you must be sayin' something right.

Brillance, just sheer brillance, Word!

This is the crux of the matter - something liberals will never, ever be able to understand.

Yet, again Word, you awe me :)

Marie,

The whole world needs to be made aware to what extent our soldiers are terrorizing the Iraqi children, since our MSM dinosaur media will not.

Skye,

You flatter me. Thanks. "Stay the course" has become such a negative slogan in the mouths of liberal quagmirists and mischaracterized for political profit gains.
