Memorial Day Tribute Video (2008)

"A family invited him to dinner. He told us, 'I have no idea what it was that we ate, but it was good.' His heart went out to those people. He had us send 300 soccer balls to Iraq for the kids."
—Joel Ailes , father (LATimes: California's 492 war dead, Iraq and Afghanistan)

Memorial Day isn't just barbecues and 4 day weekends. There's a reason why we are able to enjoy such things; and it has to do with those who are willing to serve and sacrice; who risk all to preserve the freedoms we often take for granted.

I just returned from Church so I didn't watch this before I put on my makeup, unfortunately! The cartoon also says a lot, Wordsmith. Our problems are indeed small compared with those who protect us.

Here's hoping you are enjoying a wonderul Memorial Day weekend.

This is an exceptional tribute. This is the first Memorial Day since my friend, Sgt James Craig, was killed in Iraq, so he is much in my prayers today.

So many - over our history - we are, indeed, fortunate.

This really burns me up...I lost the whole comment......I just got back from placing 11 planters on my departed relatives graves.....The cemetary was covered with flags. The fist time in memory I can say I have seen so many. Is American finally acknowledging the sacrifice that veterans have given that they might remain free....

Thank you for a touching tribute, Word. I've seen lots of flags in yards today and it makes me very happy.

Hmm....this is an odd request since the account I uploaded the vids to has been suspended.

I may re-upload them to another account.
