"I'm going home for awhile to try and be normal"

Washington Post:
Cindy Sheehan, the soldier's mother who galvanized an anti-war movement with her monthlong protest outside President Bush's ranch, said Tuesday she's done being the public face of the movement.

"I've been wondering why I'm killing myself and wondering why the Democrats caved in to George Bush," Sheehan told The Associated Press while driving from her property in Crawford to the airport, where she planned to return to her native California.

"I'm going home for awhile to try and be normal," she said.

In what she described as a "resignation letter," Sheehan wrote in her online diary on the Daily Kos blog: "Good-bye America ... you are not the country that I love and I finally realized no matter how much I sacrifice, I can't make you be that country unless you want it.

"It's up to you now."

Good luck Mother Sheehan...with trying to be normal and all that; we'll try to go on without you....*sniff*.... Don't let the door hit your fanny on the way out...get along home now, ya hear?

Haha....Daily Kos
and Democratic Underground

Um, sure.

How many farewell concerts have Cher and Babs Streisand given so far?

Maybe Cindy Sheehan will be able to survive out of the limelight. I don't think so, though.

I sent you an e-mail about this. I discovered it over at Seth's blog first, and should have known you would find it too! :)

So you got your wish: "Get Along Cindy" has finally "gotten along"! LOL! Good riddance! Let's hope she's telling the truth and not just doing this for attention.

Normal? I'm not sure she can be "normal." It'll be easier for her to stay home, and I don't think that's possible either.

Now to go have fun reading the Kos Kids...

Sparky, yeah she wants to be "normal"? Not possible. Cindy had her fame and now she is doing what most dems are doing when it comes to the global war on terror... avoid the truth. Run and hide, ditch the subject, make excuses..yadda, yadda, yadda.

If there's any show of concern on my face about her, please feel free to slap it off my face now!

I figured this would happen eventually - she has finally opened her eyes to see what an ass she made of herself for the lefties. It's going to be a rough landing and it looks like she just hit the ground. A few more bounces and it will be all over. We really ought to put her on suicide watch. The people who used her, who she allowed to use her, really don't give a damn.

I'm worried about her. She's been a major pain in the ass but it has been painful to watch her these last few years.

Talk about making my day. The only thing that would've made me happier is if she would've said she was moving to Venezuela to live with her beloved Chavez.

Now Hollywood can make "The Cindy Sheehan Story", the brave saga of a woman who took on a brutal, oil grabbing, warmongering, corrupt, lying fascist Presidency, from Crawford ditch to White House fence then turned on her very supporters, only to meet with great personal tragedy {as a result of her heroic sacrifices}.

(Barf! -- uh, sorry about your carpet, just send me the bill)...

She was able to be so "strong and courageous" against the "attacks" from the right...yet it was the stab in the back from the left that does her in...don't you love the tolerance and diversity of ideas!

I know I instigated the tone from my post; but I would also like to add, that as angry as Cindy Sheehan has made me feel with her political activism and wacky statements, I'd like to remind people that they might consider tempering their anger with the reminder that she lost a son; and out of respect for Casey, at least, to consider that he loved his mother very much, as a son should, regardless of her politics.
