Riding on the Iconoclastic Coattail Image of Heroes

I heard on the news the other day, that some Marines are pissed and that the Time Magazine editor sees nothing wrong on the evocative Joe Rosenthal image hijacking.

I think a photo-shopping contest is in order...

Can anyone think of any other iconoclastic images?

*UPDATE* Contest at Flopping Aces.

What a disgrace to the Vets!

I dont believe this crap.

I might have one:

You know that picture of Gore holding the earth in his hands?

How about changing it to a snowball?

I'm so disgusted I cant think of anything else.

Like Marie, I'm too disgusted with the whole thing. I'm happy the WWII vets are speaking up and telling how they feel.

What a bunch of clueless media idiots.

It is a disgrace.

One of the most important images from WWII and it's used like this, and did you see today's Gallup poll:

"While 61% of Americans say the effects of global warming have already begun, just a little more than a third say they worry about it a great deal, a percentage that is roughly the same as the one Gallup measured 19 years ago.

Despite the enormous attention paid to global warming over the past several years, the average American is in some ways no more worried about it than in years past."

You can't beat this news, which is the ultimate "inconvenient truth"!

As evidenced by all comments here so far, including mine, you don't have to be a Marine for this depiction to piss you off! Perhaps someone should photoshop the marines holding Al Gore upside down and planting his head in the ground. I doubt most Marines would object to that!

This picture is not only a slap in the face tothe great soldiers who raised the flag on Iwo but to every vet and active duty military who has fought and is fighting for our country.

This is one of the most disgusting displays that liberal Time Magazine has every had!
