Curses!

This morning I tried printing out my last post and everything turned into gobbledegook. Michael Whitt suggested I go into my template, which did in fact mysteriously change. So I replaced it with an older version of my template. But even though it showed up in my preview window, when I'd try to republish the template, it still came out scrambled. So finally I got it to work when I re-edited that last post I tried to publish this morning. Weird.

Anyway, thank goodness I had the foresight to copy a version of my template in the event of something like this. All I had to do was cut and paste that in. It isn't quite 100% up-to-date, so be patient as I add in some of my more recent links. If you see yours missing, or want to be added to my blogroll, let me know.

Wordsmith,

I think I need some shut eye! I had a mental lapse and called you Pero.

I did just copy my template. I hope I got that right. Thanks.

I've had trouble with the photos loading today, too.

I've noticed the same on other blogs.

Must be a system problem.

Thanks for letting me know. So maybe I just need to sit tight and not worry about the problem being on my end, and it'll correct itself.

And calling me "Pero" is better than me being called "Louis".

Yeah, well...notice how I used the layman's term "gobbledegook" instead of some html techno-babble?

Mark, you know how you go onto your template and add links and such? Copy and paste that into a word document (should be in html) and save it. If you don't and something like this should happen, you'll be back to square one as far as all your links and profile stuff. Everything that you've manually added onto the template.

Thanks for the tip. I never thought about copying my template, but I am going to do that now just in case I end up with "gobbledegook" at some point.

Mark, here is a place I went to for an html code tutorial. I looked it up because I needed to find out a way to super script when I posted "Dan Rather" and wanted it to be written as "Dan Ra[sup]th[/sup]er", as a not-so-subtle reference to the National Guard falsified memo 60 Minutes story, broken by the pajama bloggers.

This might be of interest to you as well: Blogger template tags

I could have sworn I saw a blogger.com page on html, but now I can't seem to find it.
