So which country, exactly is the one with clean hands, travelling the moral high road?
I just read this post from Skye, and she reminds me of a study conducted by Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, a Swedish pacifist group. We're often accused of having "created Saddam". So.......who do you suppose supplied Saddam with the majority of his armament?

America and the current Administration have been accused of invading Iraq for oil and war-profiteering. But which countries stood to profit by acting as UN obstructionists, and would never have voted for war to remove Saddam from power, under any circumstances?
France....Russia....China....any foreign nation...does not have America's best interest at heart. Remember that! Don't ever let that part slip from your thoughts as you wring your hands over how "the rest of the world hates us". As Jean-Francois Revel puts it, (I paraphrase) "America's apparent unilateralism is due to the fact that it is the rest of the world that has failed to act in our mutual best interest, and in our collective global security."

Things with Putin seemed so great in the beginning and now it seems as though the relationship is reverting to pre-Reagan/Gorbachev. Secrecy and back-door dealings are becoming the norm again for them. I realize the U.S. isn't innocent, but please, everything wrong in the world is not our fault!
The fact that you and others must still post the facts is a sad commentary on our society. I have begun to think that no amount of reason, logic or truth will ever be enough to convince the Bush haters. They're too consumed with pathological hate. But keep on keeping on!
It's similar to any attempts to dispell the notion that there are no Iraq-Al Qaeda connections.
Or trying to point out that blacks were not disproportionately affected by Hurricane Katrina and that much of the hysteria and distortions and misperceptions were pushed by the mainstream media.
