A Hamas fighter takes position inside the customs hall of the Rafah crossing between Egypt and the southern Gaza Strip on June 15. Hamas's military victory, after five days of fighting that left nearly 100 Palestinians dead, has deepened the political and cultural separation between the Hamas-dominated Gaza Strip, many of whose 1.4 million residents are poor refugees, and the more populous West Bank, Fatah's power base. Liberal Media would say, "Muslim forced to remain hidden in scanning device to escape the insensitive remarks by other flyers regarding his constitutionally protected right to carry a weapon on religious grounds. In other news, a Christian dared to wear a cross around her neck on a flight and was detained for her offensive wearing of such icon."
