Kill Bill

No, not this one:

Nor this one:

This Bill:

Our Founders chose "gridlock" over "programmatic efficiency".

Although I think Heather MacDonald is wrong about her facts and stats on the illegal aliens "crime wave", I think she's spot on regarding the politics that argues new Hispanics citizens would vote conservative. One need only look at these photos to understand which side of the political fence this voting block would clamber and migrate toward:

Note the Che Guevara t-shirt.

Anyone really believe that the majority of these Chicano pride/multiculturalists- many who would undoubtedly push for generous welfare benefits- would vote Republican?

Play the short video on this lefty blog. Those kindergarten kids should be granted what they're chanting for: We don't need them with that brand of patriotism. Anyone that loves Mexico that much- or any nation- should not be here; they should go back over there.

And I say all of this as someone who was somewhat on the fence on the illegal immigration bill. Certainly, the status quo is unacceptable. My greatest fear is that we will get something much worse proposed, should Democrats take not only the majority in the House and Senate, but also the Presidency.

No aminista, no aminista!!!

The libtards thought they elected a mandate for change. What they got were democrats that are more conservative than the republicans they ousted. No aminista, No aminista. Talk about misreading an election.

I say it's time to slap the cuffs on every illegal we find and send them home to Mexico or wherever they came from and replace them with someone that is ready to contribute legally to this country. They are trying to force us to accept people that have no problem breaking our laws and using up resources that were meant for citizens that follow the laws of the land. I think the Senate got the message loud and clear we're not going to stand by and be sand bagged on aminista again.

My Senator Lindsey Grahamnesty is going to be in even more hot water down here because of his support for this bill. I hope it is dead for good.

Oh, and speaking of those idiots with the "this is OUR continent" signs.... Maybe they need a geography lesson. Many of the illegals were indigenous to central and Southern Mexico and Central America.

Hardly any of them were indigenous to the area they claim as AZTLAN.

Personally, my biggest problem with illegal aliens is my inability to comminicate with them. They see no reason to learn English since the government panders to them by printing every document and sign in Spanish, and offering language choices in voice mail.

Non-personally, the glut on Government coffers will bankrupt America if the current rate of illegal immigration continues, but the scary part is it will get worse if this immigration bill ever gets passed. Fortunately, the people have spoken and defeated it for now.

It will be presented again, though, but next time they will do it in the dark of night or on the weekend when not many are paying attention. We need to be on guard.

I was pretty much a fence sitter too until listening to Hannity discuss IN DETAIL what all this bill entitled illegals to.

But then again any bill with Teddy Kennedy's name attached to it, must be looked into very closely. After all he is the master of deception, *Hiccup*

When it got to the part about they get to bring thier families over here, not to mention all the other crap they were going to get, that was enough for me.

Not to mention my daughter-in-law that came here legally, get's pushed to the back of the line, that's what did it.

Mike:
Maybe the good that will come out of this mess is that your state will wake up and send Lindsey Graham packing during the primaries!!

Wordsmith:
Great round-up and thanks for the easter egg link.

I used to be a smoker and this bill is like one of those non filter smokes that you thought you put out in the ashtray, no matter how many times you go over there to put it out it still keeps smoking, annoying the heck out of you. It eventually goes out because theres nothing left to burn but doggone those things would bother the heck out of me.

McCain and a few others are talking about bringing the bill back up but just like that burning butt in the ashtray, there's nothing left to burn.

Now it's time to enforce our laws and quit trying to make new ones to get around the old ones. Start fining employers, start hiring new Border Patrol, transfer Federal employees that aren't doing anything important (which is about 90% of them) over to INS (or whatever they call it now, I think ICE) and start processing already caught illegals and let local municipalities start enforcing codes that keep illegals from renting or buying houses. We can take control and we must.

I've always said there's nothing wrong with legal immigration, it's needed but illegal aliens are costing us a lot of money and using resources they should never be allowed to access.

Love the cartoons, Wordsmith. One of them is of course snagged. :)

We won this round but Mark is right: we need to be on our guard.
