Just who exactly is it that is attempting to legislate ideology?

"This is just one example of how the president puts ideology before science, politics before the needs of our families, just one more example of how out of touch with reality he and his party have become,"
- Hillary Clinton before today's Take Back America conference.

Um...no.

If President Bush was putting ideology before the science, he'd call for a ban on all embryonic stem cell research. But despite his personal views that "all human life is sacred" and that embryonic stem cells is more than just so much "clump of cells", he has left the research open-ended, to be explored through state and private funding. Not federal.

To insist on federal funding when half the country is opposed, especially when thus far adult stem cells has yielded promising, fruitful research, whereas embryonic stem cell research has not, is to put ideology before the science.

What amazes me in their argument about embryoninc stem cells is that they can NEVER give one instance of any cure, or break through etc. using embryonic stem cells.

Yet their are numerous break throughs and cures usin adult stem cells from bone marrow. For instance eight blind people have at least a portion of theuir sight returned every month as a result of using adult stem cell injections.

Every instance where empryoninc stem cells are used the body or other type of host rejects them.

I don't think the Dems actually have ever read anything about this they just jump on the band wagon.

The President Vetoed this bill a little while ago today I think.

I agree with Ken, there's more promise with Adult Stem Cells anyway.

Or they could get cells from the Placenta, etc.. there is no scientific reason to destroy unborn human life.

You know, a liberal coworker of mine told me last week that Bush had "banned" stem cell research. Then I heard on the radio that all he'd done was prevent federal funding from going to embryonic stem cell research. It's a bit of a difference, no?
