The Quagmire in Afghanistan
Number of unconfirmed deaths in a battle in Shah Wali Kot district in Kandahar province:
Taliban-led insurgents: 100 +
Afghan soldiers: 1
Coalition forces: 0
So who's winning in Afghanistan? And yet we're supposed to pull troops out of Iraq, and fight the "real" enemy in Afghanistan, and not in Iraq?
Another great speech by the President to the American legion.

What? What to do? Would someone please tell me what we can do that we're not already doing? We send e-mails, make phone calls, and blog. Personally, I don't know what else to do. The BS goes on and on.
President Bush's speech was awesome indeed, Wordsmith, but right now I'm feeling pretty depressed. Things are happening to our country that shouldn't be happening.
Sorry, I'm ranting. I'm just so freaking angry!
Nicely done, Wordsmith. Like Gayle, I'm so disgusted I could explode.
Numbers don't lie...that is unless you are a liberal accountant that adds 1 + 1 and comes up with 12, 000
I can feel the love in that photo of our President hugging the veteran.
What a shame our leftie friends hearts have turned to stone. If they only knew how much this man cared for THEM too.

Thanks for this, Wordsmith!
Gayle, it's okay to be ranting...I wish more people would rant the way you do!
Burkean Reflections
The most effective thing we can do is to disengage the major thrust of our offensive with main front of our enemies. Pull out all of our troops and put them to work engaging another smaller and ineffective enemy in the highest and toughest terrain on earth. That's if we want to lose the war we are fighting.
Now if we decide we want to win we must continue to go on the offensive and weaken the enemy with everything we can use.
40 more Taliban insurgents snuffed out, adding to the 4,200 killed this year.
