Olympic Fever?
Aug. 2: Women exercise at a gym in Herat, Afghanistan. Afghan women are beginning to use private gyms and sports clubs after years of being cloistered in their homes under Taliban rule. Still a highly segregated society, there are few socially acceptable public places for women outside of schools or universities, and even fewer facilities for sports.

Well, that's an image I could have done without! At least the Iraqis were allowed to attend after all. I saw Pres Bush and Laura stand and clap for them as they entered the arena during the opening ceremony tonight.
Yeah, it sounds like the U.S. and Iraq got great ovation.
Those Afghan ladies must do a lot of laundry. If my gym clothes are saturated with sweat, I can imagine what theirs are like!
