The official who spoke did so on condition of anonymity, saying they did not
want to pre-empt a text-message announcement the Obama campaign promised for
Saturday morning.

Isn't it the president that's supposed to take the 3 a.m. call? Not the unwashed masses who happen to have Blackberries.
He seems to think he's some kind of unearthly enigma. Not enough to make his acceptance speech at the convention hall, NO, he needs a STADIUM so the masses can hear his dulcet tones and touch his robes! TEXT MESSAGE the announcement at 3AM as if anybody but the media's hanging on a thread wondering who he picked?
Have you seen the Biden speech introducing Obama as BARACK OMERICK? I heard somewhere he'd said BARACK AMERICA and the McCain people were ticked, but if you listen, it's OMERICK, and the look on Obama's face is HILARIOUS..."WHAT THE...?"
