Gizoogled for the Weekend

I think the recent withdrawal of Harriet Miers nomination has really unhinged Hugh Hewitt, who bravely led the anti-anti-Miers charge to the (em)bitter(ed)-sweet end. I mean, just take a look at his latest post.

Or maybe, it's me. All of a sudden, none of my blogging buddies are recognizable to me:

A Soldier's Perspective

4 Rows Back in the Bleacher Seats

Patriotic Mom

Just a Woman

PebblePie

Freedom Eden

Mike's America

Jaymeister

That's just a small sampling. Even my own blog no longer looks right to me. If you wish to leave a comment, I suggest you do so only after running it through my new anti-spam filter. Or find your own.

Oh, and those 8 sample buddies I listed? Well, guess what? You've all been tagged (or "memed", but I don't even know what that word means). No specified number of blogs you need to tag back. Just choose however many you wish to annoy.

So git ta werk, suckas! And gots uh nice weekend! slap mah fro!

We are not amused. :-) I don't do the meme or chain-letter thing. But Gizoogle looks like a lot of fun. It reminds me of a comedy clip of a commercial for an airline, in Ebonics. If I can find it and post it on my blog, would that satisfy the meme?

Oi Vey! I'm with Jaymeister on the tag thing. Not even sure what it's all about, or what good would come from the exercise.

I guess we're going to have a new nominee in the next 24 hours or so and I hope it is one that ALL of us who value freedom can unite behind.

I continue to be amazed at how ingracious the Barabas wing of the conservative movement has been in victory.

I've seen these little family fights before, usually on the state and local level, but never one on this scale at the Federal.

I'm also getting a bit more clued in on how those seeds were sown. Apparently, David Frum, the former White House Speech writer has had a voodoo doll of Harriet Miers sitting on his desk for some time, just waiting to stick in the pin.

White House speech writers and half the staff are continually frustrated by Counsels and the Staff Secretariat. I've got a few examples from my own experience in that regard I could share.

Frum found some ready accomplices and it was off to the races.

We were told that this issue was TOO IMPORTANT to trust Presdident Bush by our Barabas conservative friends, who seemed to place implicit trust in Frum, Kristol, et al., none of whom were elected.

Anyway, it will be time for the adults, including many of my blog-brethren you list above, to put the pieces back together.

As usual, I don't expect much help from the Barabas conservatives who continue to deny President Bush ANY level of support for him or the agenda. Come see the poll at Mike's America where they are voting against even a generic level of Bush support.

The Barabas right whiners would damn us all to purgatory of a "House Speaker Nancy Pelosi" and "President Hillary Clinton" to punish us for our sins of ignoring their opinion.

Stick together folks. We're in the MAJORITY of conservatives, and this fight may not be over.

In about six hours, we should know the new nominee.

Will it be a woman?

I doubt it.
