Murthfully Misinformed

I caught the MSNBC evening rerun of Meet the (de)Press(ed). I don't have time to run through Representative Murtha's rantings. He got a lot of air-time to spew his version of events in Iraq. This is how CrooksandLiars sees it:
"[Murtha]got the full body treatment from Timmy. Russert wailed away at John (who wouldn't like to see that same treatment with Condi or Cheney?) and threw everything and the kitchen sink at him"

I felt Tim Russert was characteristically easy on him, in comparison to the grilling he gives pro-Iraq war politicians and military officials. After all of Rep Murtha's portrayal of Iraq as being in the grips of civil war, and the Vietnam comparisons, and the quoting of figures that I recognized as coming from questionable stats and polling, the bottomline is this: cut-and-run strategy. Rather than doing the run-around and denying it, just admit that this simple phrase describes your solution perfectly. Everything he said on Meet the Press can all be summed up as "cutting and running." Just face it, Representative Murtha, and quit beating around the Bush about it.

Crooksandliars has the video and links to the transcript.

"Cut and Run." Right! Great idea. Then all the civilians in Iraq will be slaughtered and the world can blame us for that too! Not to mention the fact that it would just be plain wrong.

I really do wish that Murtha and all his ilk would pull their heads out of their rectums; wash the crap out of their eyes and see the world as it really is. Sheesh!

I left a comment on your last post too. It's nicer than this one. :)

Everything he says is all doom-and-gloom and one-sided statistics/polling quoting. No concession at all or acknowledgement that there are a great many who completely disagree with his assessment and with his "facts" on the situation. I'd like to know specifically, who in the military and in the Pentagon he's talked to who supports his position. That would be nice. Just a radical militant quagmirist and fundamental defeatist as far as I can tell from listening to him.

Gotta love those 'un-named' sources quoted by Murtha et al.

All the doom-and-gloom rhetoric spewed by the DNC is all part of the gameplan to regain political power in Washington.

The Dems know that the US and the world needs to succeed in Iraq. However, they are unable to publicly admit it if they want any sort of chance to win back the House and Senate in 06.

To put it bluntly: the Dems will win back the House, Senate and WH IF the US cuts and runs from Iraq.

While disagreeing with Murtha, I was willing to give him the bebefit of the doubt as being "old and soft."

Now, I see him as just another moonbat not worthy of anything more than derision.
