So Ugly as to be Cute!
I was browsing around different papers for news that would catch my fancy to blog about, but could only find this from the LA Times:
A pug dressed as a fireman walks the runway during the 9th Annual Pug Parade in Bradenton, Fla., last February.

Pugs are a personal favorite of mine (What happened to his other pant leg?!).
Firefighters are pretty darn cool, too.
UPDATE.....ok, I'm going to bed....I've had my fill of reading so many idiotic news articles and liberal opinion editorials in the LA Times and the NY Times that it just makes my head spin and my blood boil. I visited al Jazeera in English, too....and to be honest? They sounded more balanced to me tonight than what I was reading from the major U.S. news rags (except for this editorial; of course, maybe this is al Jazeera's way of being balanced? By bringing on board an American, to write from an American perspective- let's gloss over the fact that he's a Paul Krugman-wannabe).
And check this out....no wonder we can't seem to get the upperhand in the propaganda war. I bet if al Qaeda in Iraq had to choose between renewing their subscription to the NY Times or Al Jazira newspaper, they'd have a tough time deciding.

WS, I came across a pug pic like that a while back.
It has to be the same one. How many pugs dress that way? I should rephrase that-- How many pug owners dress their pugs that way?
It's adorable and he doesn't seem to mind so it must be comfortable enough.
The other pant leg is a mystery though. Hmmm.
Thanks for posting the pug. The news has really been getting to me lately. I needed to see a cutie like that. Thanks for the smile. :)
The other pant's leg is bare so the pug can go pee-pee. Dogs don't handle zippers or buttons very well. The picture is precious.
The New York Times isn't precious, however.
Take heart, dear Wordsmith. Don't let it get you down, and be thankful the internet exists because it is, slowly but surely, making a difference.
That picture is something else. (smiling)
I know what you mean about frustration on reading all the liberal news out there. Today, I kicked back to read our local newspaper aside from all the news I read online...but anyway, it is all bias...and Bush Bashing...makes me sick. Like Gayle said...thank goodness we have the opportunity to find good stuff online.
I own a Pug and I would never put clothes on him. He is a proud Pug and that would humiliate him.
And they say we "tortured" prisoners at Abu Ghraid? Bah!
Pug abuse! Pug abuse!
:)
O.K.... just kidding.
At first I thought Gayle's explanation made perfect sense. But if you look closely at the picture, the pants are only on the pug's front leg. The outfit doesn't cover its back end.
So, I don't think that's it, unless the pug is particularly sloppy.
Awesome pic!! And its a sad day when you can't tell the difference between an American Newspaper and Al Jazeera.
