It's that time of the Year....

Until Monday. Because....

I am leaving for NYC today,

to learn how to fold this:

And hang out with other paperfolding nerds.

My friend, Won Park of Hawaii, recently designed the dollar bill koi.

I'll be officially teaching this model, as I do every year, designed by Herman Lau in Sacramento:
If there are any "must read" items you think I might be missing out on over the weekend, including a blogpost you wrote and are particularly proud of, just leave me a link in the comments section, and I'll be happy to catch up on my reading when I get back. In the meantime, I've made quite a few posts in the past few days. So, I hope that makes up for my absence.

Does it have to be done with money?

How about absentee ballots from Florida?

Mike's a trip!

Those are wonderful, Wordmsith. I'm impressed! Have a great trip and I hope you have a lot of fun.

I can't do that, but I can cut out some impressive snowflakes. :)

I'm going to write a post - probably on Monday - about an attempted insurance scam that happened to me today. I'll come back and leave a link after it's done.

Your grand handstand on the bear will be on today's post. (Fractured Friday)

Blessings!

I don't know, gail a. I'm beginning to feel concern. He did go to New York City, after all! But still, Wordsmith manages to survive in Los Angeles, so he should be alright.

Hey, Word, I'm praying for you here! Please let me know as soon as you get back, and God bless.

First off,

I owe everyone my sincerest apologies for hiding and not responding. I just needed a break- even from so much as responding and visiting. I guess I could have just dropped in for a quick word...but I tend to go into the verbose.

Thanks for continuing to check in on me.

I actually did arrive home over a week ago; not this past Monday. I was supposed to work that day. I got home in the morning from JFK; thought I'd lay my head down for half an hour...next thing I knew, I opened my eyes to darkness and a clock that read 11:30pm! I had slept for almost 12 hours. I think from Thursday through to Monday morning, I had accumulated 6 hours of sleep, having crammed as much folding as I could at the Convention. I did make time for a post about it on one of my other blogs. But other than fulfilling obligations with the origami part of my life, I've stayed off the internet. I am waaaaay behind in political news for over a week.

I'll be getting back into the swing of things, soon. I still have a damn Ron Paul U.S. foreign policy post that is daunting me and can't seem to leave my draft box.

Anyway, Happy Independence Day, all!

Oh, another thing:

I am now on summer camp schedule. That's also what's kept me occupied. I'm basically out of the house from 7am through to 8pm, or sometimes 10pm.

To top it off: the wordsmobile broke down, so I've been bussing and hitching rides. I'm regretting not taking it to my regular mechanics, but allowing the roadside service to drop it off at Pet Boys. AAAAAArrgh! They are pissing me off royally. I feel like I am being screwed.

Thursdays are my only "light day", where I don't work summer camp. It's my one opportunity to run errands, such as going to the post office or bank, before closing hours. But now, without a vehicle, it's hard to navigate through this crazy city....

Thank you for letting me know you are back, Wordsmith. I really was worried about you. I understand the need to get away though, and you do sound like you have a rough schedule.

I hope you get the Wordsmobile back real soon. I imagine that the bussing and hitching can get pretty tedious.

Take care and Happy Independence Day!

hi, i am desperately looking for an explanation (diagram would be best) how to fold the Flower in pot- origami out of a dollar bill (would probably work with an euro bill as well, i guess) - can you help me with this?

Interesting you arrived here, on a two year old thread, instead of my origami blog, Have Paper, will Travel.

Have you looked into the Yahoo Moneyfolders Unite group? There are diagrams in the files that might be of help.
