The Ron Paul Tea Party is Coming! The Ron Paul Tea Party is Coming!
Ron Paul has a great gimmick going: wrapping himself in the cloak of the Constitution, and selling himself as the reincarnated, living-breathing embodiment of the Founding Fathers. Supposedly, he and he alone is faithful to their original intent, and how it is to be applied to 21st century problems.
Ron Paul had a great day on the fifth of November (Remember, remember?) when he raised around 4.2 million in 24 hours. The Ron Paul Reverists wish to repeat and surpass that bit of impressive phenomenon:
On December 16th, 1773, American colonists dumped tea into the Boston Harbor to protest an
oppressive tax. This December 16th, American citizens will dump millions of dollars into the
Ron Paul presidential campaign to protest the oppressive and unconstitutional inflation tax
(which has enabled a flawed foreign policy, a costly war and the sacrificing
of our liberties here at home).
Please join us this December 16th 2007 for the largest one-day political donation event in
history. Our goal is to bring together 100,000 people to donate $100 each,
creating a one day donation total of $10,000,000.
Connecting the day of donation to the Boston Tea Party is quite appropriate, symbolically: in 1773, tea was flushed into the harbor; in 2007, American dollars will be flushed down the toilet.

(Thanks to Curt for the ArPee "I'm just a Constitution" photoshop- hope those who revere Paul find it cute and charming, as well)

He's not going to become the front-runner, and I hope that doesn't mean he's going to start a third party, but I'm afraid he probably will.
2008 is going to be a very interesting year!
AMEN BROTHER!! The Pauliacs are crazed but loyal. I read that the average donation on Guy Fawkes day, ( cloaking in the Constitution but celebarte a British action, yeah really makes sense! ), anywho the average doantionwas $198.00
First that is a large amount for a single donar for normal campaigns. Then when you break it down that is only a little over 200,000 donars which is small pickings for a Presidential run. The big boys have more response everyday than 200, 000 but the dollar amounts are less.
As far as third party the polling show that he actually has more backing from anti- war Democrats then he does the GOP. So a third party would detract more from the Dems than the GOP.
My God!
I wish he would just go away.
I stole your Ron Paul Picture :-)
I am so sick of Ron Paul and his nut job cult. I pray he doesn't run 3rd party for so many reasons.
It is scary because I get a Republican email letter from a Republican group in another county. They have links to all the Republican candidates INCLUDING Ron Paul but they left off links for Rudy or McCain. Sigh..........
hes trying to save your country and protect the currency from further decent. wake up.
Uh, yeah. Thanks for that Rononymous. You're only a couple of weeks late.
You Paulbots are falling down on the job in service to your Constitutional Messiah.
I remember the good ol' days when Paulmites would flood out of the woodworks within seconds that anti-ArPee post would go up.
How quickly you forget. Reagan was just as much out of the mainstream and thought of as not having a chance of winning.
The Republican political establishment did not support him and did whatever it could to stop him.
Now they call themselves the party of Reagan.
Luke 11:47
47 Woe to you, because you build tombs for the prophets, and it was your fathers who killed them.
After Reagan won his first primary, he grined at the throng of press and said: You can call me anything you like, as long as it begins with FRONTRUNNER.
Not too many years from now, the Republic establishment will call themeselves: The Party of RON PAUL.
And they will have us to believe they were for him all along.
davepaul,
Ron Paul is no Ronald Reagan.
To quote the liberal lie, the conservative truth, "In 1988 he ran against Bush 41 as a Liberatarian BECAUSE he disagreed with Reagan policy and believed Bush 41 would continue with Reagan's strong stance on the USSR and many of his now proven domestic initiatives. He was against standing up to the USSR."
At least you did not compare Ron Paul to Jesus.
Aah...my own comment at Flopping Aces:
When it comes to Reagan's foreign policy, Ron Paul is no Reaganite.
Consider RP's own book, Freedom Under Siege, Ch 2 on foreign policy. His own language does not support a Reaganesque view, so it is dishonest to go around promoting oneself as the heir-apparent to Reaganism, to pander for the Reagan Republican votes.
