Newsflash!

According to an anonymous coward:
I guess it's all out in the open now - the Wordsmith from Nantucket is officially a fifth-columnist.
Good for me.

Well, you've admitted you've never been to Nantucket so I suppose it will come out now that you're really

Wordsmith from Saudi Arabia

Yes, but you were insulted by a traditional "enemy"; I was most likely "insulted" by a traditional "ally".

mike,

I kinda like the sound of
"Nantucketstan" or something a bit more obscure-sounding than plain ol' "Saudi Arabia".

At least y'all don't know my middle name.

A "fifth column": A clandestine subversive organization working within a country to further an invading enemy's military and political aims.

You are not! Sheesh, some people really do get carried away.

The closest you are to a fifth columnist would be your having been hired by a newspaper already employing four prior commentators.

On a slightly more serious note, I frequently write that "Islam is as Islam does." Now, I fully recognize that no one can wage a global war on an entire religion, particularly one consisting of roughly 1.2 billion Muslims -- but Islam also needs to take itself back from Militant Islam. But it is afraid to and, at the same time, the militant side is growing.

Yes, there are clearly "good" Muslims as defined by WESTERN standards. Those who have, for example, assimilated in America and are doing their level best to stay away from militancy -- until cornered.

I STILL, I must emphasize, have my doubts with the ability of Islam to steadfastly hold at bay the increasing faction of militancy and the increasing violence. We are already seeing Indonesia, numerically the house of the LARGEST number of Muslims in the world, tumbling into greater violence.

I may disagree with you on some levels (and then, in truth, they are minimal) but to call you an actual traitor?? C'mon, let's get real. Not even remotely, remotely close. That's simply heinous and disgusting.

Word,

It is all of the web based covert activity that gives you away.

Your clandestine writing has surfaced and now your cover has been blown as well as you fifth column status.

I beleive that we need to have Congressional investigations of , "anonymous," in the Valerie Plame mode since your, "cover, " has been blown and anonymous can keep Scooter Libby company.

I have always suspected that you were CIA especially the captions contest. It has revealed a considerable amount of information about political candidates.

Obviously every caption that each of us have submitted were secret communication with covert agents who worked under your fifth column status.

That combined with your regular pictures of bumper stickers on cars is an obvious clandestine organization which is designed to reveal to other countries the secret and highly dangerous inner workings of automobile bumpers and the stickers that are used to send secret messages to agents around the country.

Your massive organization of covert activity is nothing short of mind boggling especially when one considers that the highly intellectual lunatic liberal who calls himself anonymous was smarter than the rest of us conservative morons in finding you out and revealing who and what you are as well as those of us who visit your site in the clandestne work that we assist you with.

Good work Word and well done. Congrats to you and your entire fifth column team! LOL

Fifth column eh? I don't see that at all. I don't allow anonymous commenting on my page Word. Drive by commenting is against everything I believe in. I believe if you have something to say and fully believe in it then you should stand tall and say it and be proud of it. I don't happen to agree with you on the case of Islam but at least your man enough to say what you have to say and stand behind it.

This is origin of the the phrase "Fifth Column":

Emilio Mola Vidal, a Nationalist general during the Spanish Civil War (1936-39), originally coined the term. As four of his army columns moved on Madrid, the general referred to his militant supporters within the capital as his "fifth column," intent on undermining the loyalist government from within.

The only reason I let anonymous comment's on my blog is for people like Seth from "Hard Astarboard"

And other people that arent part of Blogspot that want to join in on the conversation.

If they get totally out of hand I just hit the Trash Can button lol
