Who was fired for speaking up about the Iraq war?
Is she possibly confused and was thinking instead of the meteorologists threatened with the loss of their accredidation for daring to dissent on manmade global warming?
Something tells me that this dimbulb wasn't taken to the Cuban prison where librarians are held in real gulag conditions for the offense of lending books banned by the state.
These Hollywood nitwits are dangerous fools sucking others into their own moral and intellectual quagmires.
Mike said it all and I can't say it any better than that. All I have to add to what he said is that she offends me! Having said that, since I'm a white, conservative Christian, no one cares whether I'm offended or not!
Off topic: Wordsmith, stick with the old blogger as long as you can. Ever since I was forced to go to the new blogger I can't post videos. There's a great video on You Tube, a Parody by the name of "Death to America" and I so badly want to post it. Perhaps you can. :)

On the other hand, she is right that there is a comparison between Cuba's lack of freedom and Americas.
Cuba has no freeedom. We do. That is the comparison.
All of these hollywood twits need to hire one person on their staff that is there to tell them to pull back - someone that cannot be fired for refusing to be a yes man.
They are surrounded by sycophants so every word that comes out of their mouths seems okay to them. Because nobody tells them to shut the hell up.
I don't know who was fired but it wasn't by the Govt, as it would be in Cuba. If they were fired from a sitcom it was a private company looking out for its profits.
She OBVIOUSLY doesn't understand the difference. She is confusing government censorship, with a private entity. I'd like to her her explain why it is only conservative speakers that have things thrown at them and are prevented from speaking at colleges. Hmmmmmmmmm?

It reminds me of the silly comparison of US, Canadian, and Cuban health care systems by Bob Costas and an NBC production crew during a summer Olympics, in the which it was 'determined' that Canada's health care system was by far the best, with the US and Cuba being equal in their ability to provide health care to their people.
It's ill-informed presentations like that and Ms. Theron's that go far to quickly undermine any credibility they might once have had.
As Mike points out who was fired and why didn't the news guy call her on that? This is soooooo offensive to me. When you compare the U.S. to Cuba and Bush to Hitler you completely trivialize how horrific those things really are.
There are a couple of actors/actresses that I don't like just as a matter of taste and I have never liked her so it doesn't surprise me that she's a total nutjob lib.
Before listening to an interview with any Hollywood actress (except Natalie Portman) I recommend you mute your speakers and just watch.
