This entire deal was a JOKE!!! Not only was their carbon print HUGE but not one of the participants gives a rip enough about the environment to actually sacrifice ANYTHING other than a few moments in the spotlight.

There was even a show in Antartica for one of the science stations....bet that was a hoot.

I'm very glad to hear that they had a lower than expected viewer response. :)
I read the article your 'toon linked to. We need Thompson to declare! I thought he was expected to do that on Independence Day, yet he still hasn't made it official.

Sales are through the roof and the plane is sold out until 2015!
Over at GE, their EMD Rail division has also developed a fuel-efficient diesel/electric hybrid locomotive, The Evolution
Not only are sales sky-high, but because of the economies of scale, fewer over-the-road trucks would be needed (in a competitive market such as ours) and thereby reduce fuel consumption and pollution!
Gee, isn't capitalism great??
What a huge carbon footprint of disaster.
I wonder how long it will take the earth to heal from this freakshow.
